10 Most Re-Watchable Star Trek Episodes

4. ...All Good Things

Star Trek The Next Generation All Good Things
CBS Media Ventures

This is a decision that changes depending on which number of rewatch we complete, but All Good Things is very possibly the greatest finale of all Star Trek series to date. (What You Leave Behind is snapping at its heels). The time travelling, Q focusing, Yar returning, Riker greying episode is simply fantastic, with no dull moments along the way.

It is pure Star Trek in the telling. The great climax of the episode, while yes it features explosions and action, is more about the realisation of humanity's possibilities and potential, rather than anything giant OMG moments. As Q tells Picard in the courtroom, it was the moment of understanding the paradox in which Q saw that there was more to humanity.

Everyone involved delivers their A game in this episode but the star of the piece is Patrick Stewart. He has to carry the burden of time-hopping, while keeping the various crews either up to date or in the dark. There are shades of season one Picard in how he deals with his contemporary crew, only adding to the fun of the episode overall.

Seeing multiple copies of the Enterprise-D was also a stand out moment, with the inventive and badass three-nacelled version (subsequently named in various media as the Dreadnought class) creating pure excitment.

While it was sad that the show had to end, they did it in the best way possible.
