1. Sebel Ceferova, "Euphoria" - Azerbaijan 2013
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ds-sw7PDRuQ Enter Sebel Ceferova. Azerbaijan's selection process allows for pretty much anyone who can vaguely hold one note to take part. Whoever chooses the artists picked for the show seems to fail to include "rhythm" and "ability to speak English during English-language songs" in the selection criteria; how else can you explain the mess that is "Euphoria"? Those able to decipher Sebel will notice that this is in fact the same "Euphoria" that won the contest in 2012; artists in earlier rounds of the Azeri selection process must cover a former Eurovision song in their attempts to progress. Whatever possessed Sebel to choose "Euphoria", when it is painfully obvious that she cannot sing in English, we'll never know. All we do know is that the audience members who had to sit through it no longer have any ear drums. Sebel actually seems to really get in to her performance with some funky dance moves by the end, clearly completely unaware of how badly she has just eviscerated the song. It's a touching display of "giving it a go", but you have to fear what the Azerbaijani audience were thinking when they placed her in 6th out of 9 performers. I don't know what Sebel is doing now, but her infamous performance will surely go down in history.
