2. Just Elly, "My Song" - Bulgaria 2009
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XPyzxVGfGk Bulgaria's selection process for 2009 was one of the most long-winded in history, with heats, monthly finals, semi finals and grand finals all taking place over a five month period...ultimately resulting in their song not even making the grand final of the Eurovision contest itself. But with so many songs needing to be selected, it meant that there was a prime opportunity for some lesser known artists to take part. Just Elly took advantage of that opportunity, coming on to the stage for her solo moment in the spotlight. It's hard to put in to words the "performance" that is "My Song". Elly sort of shuffles around the stage before managing to impressively both wail and mumble through the number, looking like she's accidentally wandered in from the street and decided to have a go at karaoke night. Except that it's being broadcast not only to the entire country, but everyone else watching online. It's a complete and utter trainwreck from start to finish, but she perseveres to the end and you have to credit her for trying. But this begs the question - just what can top such a wonderful performance as "My Song"?
