10 Most Ridiculous Doctor Who Rumours Ever

1. The Father Of Amy's Baby Will Be A Dalek, A Cyberman, Or Vincent Van Gogh

When Amy told the Doctor that she was pregnant in the Series 6 premiere The Impossible Astronaut, the conversation instantly turned to the identity of the father.

While the obvious candidate (and, as it transpired, the correct candidate) was Rory, Amy's flirtatious behaviour convinced many viewers that we were in for a shock reveal somewhere down the line, leading to a massive game of "who's the daddy?" within the fanbase, which spawned wave after wave of insane rumours - just like this one.

According to some extremely credible sources like The Daily Star (yes, them again) and Unreality TV, the "potential daddies" for Amy's baby included the Doctor, a Dalek, a Cyberman, and Vincent Van Gogh, who she met in Series 5.

It's hard to fathom how someone could even think this up - the thought of Amy getting it on with a Cyberman is just disturbing, and no, there isn't a scene in Vincent And The Doctor where they have a quick shag behind the TARDIS - but here we are folks.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for over ten years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. In 2022, he took charge of WhoCulture and has grown it into the biggest Doctor Who channel on YouTube, and one of the biggest Doctor Who communities on the web full-stop. He has been writing and video editing since his early teens, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers, off the back of a burning obsession with the Matt Smith era of the show. Like many his age, he first got into Doctor Who with the 2005 revival, but has since gone back and fallen in love with the classic years too. If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order, or to give you a random factoid about the making of Gridlock, Danny is the person to ask!
