10 Most Satisfying TV Character Deaths Of The Past Decade

1. Joffrey Baratheon - Game Of Thrones

Game of Thrones Joffrey death
HBO

Identity of Deceased: Joffrey Baratheon, officially the child of the late King Robert Baratheon (Mark Addy) and Cersei Lannister (Lena Heady), but in truth fathered by Cersei's own brother Jamie (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau). Portrayed by Jack Gleeson.

Time of Death: 'The Lion and the Rose,' Season 4 Episode 2 (first broadcast 13th April 2014).

Cause of Death: Shortly after being married to Margaery Tyrell (Natalie Dormer), Joffrey is poisoned at a banquet and chokes to death.

Why It Was So Satisfying: Has a TV show's fanbase ever bayed for blood more fervently than GoT fans did with Joffrey? After initially coming off as the worst school bully imaginable, it was only as he ascended to the Iron Throne that the full extent of his repulsiveness came through.

After the execution of Ned Stark, his perpetual torment of Sansa and Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), and almost incalculable levels of baseless self-aggrandisement and pointless cruelty, Joffrey was screaming for a kicking all through the first 3 seasons.

Even so, it still came as a surprise - a pleasant one, but a surprise nonetheless - when he finally met his end, under initially mysterious circumstances.
