Getting a big name like Christian Slater, star of Heathers and True Romance, to voice Vance Maximus in 'Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender' was a genius idea. His suave renegade star soldier character manages to toe the line between charismatic and also incredibly arrogant in a way not many could balance.

Whether you love or hate this nineties heart throb his voice is undeniably perfect in encapsulating the smarmy authority that is at the heart of Vance Maximus.

In an episode which clearly parodies the Avengers, with everything from the name Vindicators to the actual ragtag bunch of heroes thrown together, the homage also stretches to Vance being the Tony Stark counterpart of the group. A smooth-talking, quippy, self-righteous borderline alcoholic who oozes authority, Slater manages to pay his respects to Robert Downey Jr. while also creating an iconic one off Rick and Morty character for the ages.
