The now iconic image of Rick as a pickle in the imaginatively titled 'Pickle Rick' may have gone down in Rick and Morty folklore but this image alone does a disservice to the rest of the episode. This bonkers season three episode combines Rick's antics as a lethal pickle slaughtering human and rat alike while Morty, Summer and Beth go for an eventful therapy.

And to flesh out the characters they encounter are three guest stars for the price of one with Susan Sarandon voicing counselling therapist Dr Wong, Peter Serafinowicz as the shady agency director and Danny Trejo playing a lethal killer named Jaguar.

Serafinowicz - who steals the show in Guardians of the Galaxy, Shaun of the Dead and is arguably the best part of Phantom Menace as the voice of Darth Maul - gets to use his rich voice to play the over the top English baddie. Meanwhile Trejo is perfectly cast as a Machete-type action man, a playful take on his most famous role which allows him to poke fun at himself and inject more humour into his performance than he usually does.

However, the casting of Oscar-winning Susan Sarandon as Dr Wong was - and still is - incredible for a cartoon whose humour at its core revolves around burps, farts and excessive swearing. The best part? She only did it for her children who love Rick and Morty.
