10 Most Underrated Performances In Game Of Thrones

5. Iwan Rheon - Ramsay Bolton

Ramsay Bolton Theon Greyjoy
HBO

The villain with the greatest longevity was undoubtedly Cersei. However, Ramsay brought villainy to such a disgusting level that he was in many ways the most unforgettable antagonist.

Rheon’s performance brilliantly captured the twisted nature of Ramsay. Almost every second this sick individual was on screen it was clear that he was thoroughly enjoying himself, which in turn made audiences loath him even more. His dialogue with Theon and Sansa was especially memorable, as Ramsay viewed both of them as toys through which to channel his cruelty and malice.

As with Lloyd’s portrayal of Viserys, Rheon was able to convey the unhinged nature of his character without dialogue. Indeed, Ramsay’s expressions of anger or glee were frightening spectacles.

Put simply, Rheon brought Martin’s infamous villain to life with a frightening level of authenticity.
