10 Most Underrated Stargate Episodes

8. Crystal Skull - SG-1

Crystal Skull is an odd little episode of SG-1. Daniel is zapped into another plain of existence (no, not that one, not this time) and the rest of the team can't see him anymore. This is after he has come into contact with a crystal skull that had originally been discovered by his grandfather, Nicholas Ballard.

The episode introduces this character, thought of as a bit of a kook by his academic contemporaries. However, he is also the only one who can see Daniel in his phased form, resulting in his becoming something of an interpreter. Together, he travels with SG-1 back to the planet where he acts as an emissary for Humanity, allowing the native aliens to see them as a non-threatening species.

And they return Daniel, which is nice.

It is a simple episode, while also serving to widen the lore of the galaxy. These beings, made from energy, still fear the Goa'uld, which adds an extra layer of menace to the series' bad guys!
