10 Most Underrated Stargate Episodes

7. Critical Mass - Atlantis

Stargate Atlantis Critical Mass
MGM

This second season episode of Atlantis is a fantastic 'eleventh hour' type of story, with several important plot developments and a crossover with SG-1! General Landry discovers that a bomb has been placed in Atlantis by a member of The Trust, a Goa'uld terrorist group that is operating on Earth.

They've received news of the Wraith in the Pegasus Galaxy and want to cut off any chance of them being threatened by this new enemy - by destroying the only gate with access to the Milky Way galaxy.

This episode sees the entire team racing against time, including Shepard and Ronon beating the truth out of a possessed Caldwell, Weir authorizing torture against another suspect and McKay working alongside returning character Cadman (with whom he had previously shared a body. Don't ask.)

It is a fun, exciting, high stakes kind of episode, with a nail biting rush to the conclusion. Special shout out to Rachael Luttrell, who's Teyla sings a funeral dirge that is just spine chilling as well!
