6. 13 Reasons Why

The idea of 13 Reasons Why being on a list of underrated shows after having long outstayed its welcome might seem humorous to you, but the truth is that the fourth season was not the show's weakest offering.

Though its primary narrative once again employed the show's annoying habit of just lumping as much sh*t on its protagonists as possible, the subplots throughout provided the Netflix series with moments of brilliance - particularly those involving Alex Standall and Charlie St. George, Tyler Down or Tony Padilla - and the Prom episode was one of the show's finest installments ever.

Clay was a problematic lead and dragged the first couple of episodes down, but once they got that out of the way, things really started to pick up - and the writers gave Dylan Minnette material that resulted in an absolutely incredible performance.

Furthermore, the creative team figured out how to use newcomer Ani much more effectively this time around, and she finally slotted into the show the way that she should have in the previous season.

13 Reasons Why has been lost for a purpose since its first offering ended, but it finally found some form of balance in its final season, finding a way to bring things to a believable close after missing countless opportunities to do so before. It wasn't brilliant, but it wasn't bad either, and at this point, that's enough.
