8. Ryan Gosling

Pretty boy Ryan Gosling has far more than his good looks going for him. Having given amazing performances in films such as Lars and the Real Girl, Drive, and Half Nelson it could be said he's one of the greatest actors of his generation. However, far before he was amazing critics in these films, or seducing lonely women in the wildly overrated The Notebook, a young Gosling made his acting debut in one of the best episodes of Are You Afraid of the Dark - "The Tale of Station 109.1" The story centers on Gosling's character's younger brother - a morbid boy with a fascination for the macabre. Things turn upside down for the boy when he hears the ominous broadcast of Station 109.1 and is mistaken for a dead man. Also featuring a guest appearance by Gilbert Gottfried as the radio host, the boy is coerced into entering the afterlife before his time and Gosling has to step up to save him. It's also worth noting that one year later Gosling made an appearance in the Goosebumps episode Say Cheese and Die - one of the most popular of the Goosebumps series. To see Gosling before he became a heartthrob you should definitely check out these early performances. However, Ryan shows no sign of slowing down with films being released this year and projects announced for next year as well.
