10 Movies You Didn't Know Were Being Remade As Upcoming TV Shows

4. Blade Runner: Black Lotus

Another series that will take the animation route is a spin-off to the Blade Runner franchise, called Blade Runner: Black Lotus.

This franchise has already birthed two heavily acclaimed sci-fi movies with Blade Runner (1982) and its long-awaited sequel Blade Runner 2049 (2017), along with many short films, including Blade Runner Black Out 2022 (2017), of which this new spin-off will be linked to.

The series will be set 10 years after the short film (and therefore, 13 years after the original film, and 17 years before the sequel), and is said to feature some characters from the universe. It is yet unknown, however, if Harrison Ford’s Rick Deckard or Ryan Gosling’s K will feature in the series.

Otherwise, the series is said to premiere on adult animation-orientated Adult Swim (the same channel that created Rick and Morty), which will hopefully be a perfect fit for the show.
