5. The Continental
The John Wick franchise is now rivalling the Mission: Impossible and Fast and Furious series for being the biggest action franchise on the planet. The series has already released three films, and now have a forthcoming fourth movie, a spin-off film, and now, a spin-off series, called The Continental on the horizon.
The Continental will be centred years before the films take place, and is said to take place in the hotel that is featured in the franchise. The hotel is a safe haven for hitmen and assassins, where Keanu Reeves’ John Wick often frequents. So, think of it as almost a Fawlty Towers-type show, but more action and violence-orientated.
The series has some serious good talent involved, including the mind behind The Wire and The Sopranos, Chris Collins, who will act as the show’s key show-runner and executive producer.
Otherwise, Reeves will guest star in the series, as well as produce, alongside the first film’s co-directors, David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, the latter of which will direct the show’s pilot episode.
