Filming wrapped on Mike Flanagan's latest terrifying project only a few short months ago, and we could not be more excited for the horror maestro's third collaboration with Netflix.
Following on from the mammoth critical and commercial success of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor, the filmmaker's latest spooky series focuses on a mysterious island.
Comprising seven spine-chilling episodes, Midnight Mass centers on the arrival of a new priest to the otherwise isolated island. While their new visitor appears young and charismatic, his arrival triggers a series of perplexing and terrifying events.
The series will star Kate Siegel (The Haunting of Hill House) alongside Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) and Hamish Linklater (Legion). While filming was temporarily delayed due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, the series is still scheduled for release later this year.
Unfortunately, this does mean that few other details on this supernatural series have been released. However, Given Flanagan's proven track-record with the streaming service, we predict that Midnight Mass will be an atmospheric chiller that has audiences hiding behind their sofas.
