10 Nicest Things Bojack Horseman Has Ever Done
1. He Established The Jerb Kazzaz Orphanage
Throughout their relationship, Bojack Horseman and Herb Kazzaz had their ups and downs, with the final years before the latter's death being pretty much all downs. The two were close friends, and Herb was the one who gave Bojack his big break, casting him as the lead in Horsin' Around.
However, when it came to a choice between either standing up for his friend or continuing on the show without him, Bojack chose the show. Shortly before his death, Herb told Bojack that he could never forgive him, and that he has to live with that feeling for the rest of his life.
It is one of the incredibly heavy hitting emotional moments that make the show so special. At Herb's funeral, Bojack told Princess Carolyn to give his residuals from Horsin' Around to an orphanage, and there was enough of Bojack's money there to build a brand new one.
Uncomfortable with the idea of it being named after him, and the kids looking up to him, because he was no hero, the orphanage was named after Herb, or 'Jerb' thanks to a typo on an email. Even though the plaque and the t-shirts said the wrong name, Bojack accepted it because not only would Herb have found it funny, the name really didn't matter. His money was doing something exceptional either way.
