10 One-Time Saturday Night Live Hosts Who Should Host Again

5. Bryan Cranston

Hosted: October 2, 2010 Bryan Cranston's case could be summarized using the cliche "striking while the iron is hot." When Cranston hosted in 2010, he was in the midst of the most successful stretch of his career, centering around his starring role in AMC's Breaking Bad, a role that netted him four Emmy awards, the chance to direct, and a number of roles in major motion pictures (John Carter, Argo, Rock of Ages.) Since Breaking's run came to an end in 2013, Cranston has remained busy, winning a Tony Award for his portrayal of former U.S. President Lyndon B. Johnson, and cameos in The Simpsons, The Cleveland Show, and Archer. But is Cranston going to have enough momentum maintained from arguably his greatest role to continue? He has three films coming out in 2015, but none have garnered much early buzz. It seems, if he wants to don his trademark tighty-whiteys on live television while the world still has a man-crush on him, Cranston should reach out to Lorne Michaels soon.
