10 Plots From Stargate That Were Just Dropped

9. The Re'tu

The season 2 episode 'Show and Tell' of SG-1 saw a small boy show up at the SGC who said that his Mother had sent him to warn the humans about the threat of the Re'tu rebels. The Re'tu are invisible to our ocular spectrum and, for the most part, uninterested in us. However, a sizeable portion of their population has decided that humans are a threat to their race because humans frequently serve as hosts for the Goa'uld and humans make up their legions of slaves. Because of this, we all have to die.

For their part, the Goa'uld despise the Re'tu because their very presence makes Goa'uld physically ill, something that Teal'c notes with displeasure. The SGC then look up their (new at the time) friends the Tok'ra, who provide them with some invisibility-revealing guns and they start hunting down the five Re'tu that have infiltrated the facility. Because they're insect like, they can't really operate doors but can type on keypads, apparently.

After this single episode, they're never seen or heard of again, however. Their only lasting legacy is that there's a hand-print scanner in the Gate control room for ever-after (which is still being used all the way up to Stargate: Continuum), since they couldn't use it. Whatever happened to the Re'tu? Does anyone care?

Still bitter that Star Trek Enterprise got canned and almost old enough to angrily tell the kids to 'Get Off My Lawn!'
