3. The Aliens, "American Horror Story: Asylum"
I love the idea of "American Horror Story." Each season is an entirely new story, with completely different characters played by the same actors from previous seasons. Also, it has Jessica Lange who makes everything awesome. Although the show's sophomore season had many memorable moments, I strongly preferred season one. Both seasons had a similar premise. A lot of horrific things happened in the Murder House and considerably more horrific events occurred in Briarcliff. The difference is that season one had direction and season two didn't. There was no focus. The main story was supposed to be about Lana Winters and the Bloody Face saga, right? So why did aliens randomly come out of the sky and perform experiments on Kit Walker and his lovers? The only thing I got from this is that Kit was special. A further explanation was never given. The aliens had nothing to do with Bloody Face, who seemed to be the at the center of Briarcliff's horror story. The plot made no sense and the aliens came off as a throwaway idea that Ryan Murphy decided to throw into the mix anyway, just for kicks. These extraterrestrials had no place in this season and essentially served to make an already confusing show, well, more confusing.
