Being a Doctor Who fan is being part of a community. There are so many websites, fan boards and blogs about Doctor Who that it's hard to find a corner of the internet that the TARDIS hasnt touched. Its a wonderful part of being a fan. Generally speaking. As with any community, there are those that resent new fans. They feel that because some have not gone back to the very beginning, they have no right to talk about the Doctor. But you'll be happy to know that this is a small minority. On the whole, the Doctor Who community is welcoming and willing to help new fans through those early teething problems. What exactly is a TARDIS, they might want to know. Its all out there. Whether its via a Wiki search or a question on a message board, most fans are so happy to talk about the Doctor that they'll spill the beans to those that are new to all things Who. They often even manage to do so without condescension or mockery. Most fans of Doctor Who respect the opinions of others, no matter how new they are to the show. As a new fan, there is a wealth of information out there and there are so many ways to answer those burning questions. Blogs, vlogs, message boards, websites - it's all out there waiting. The entire history of Doctor Who is available online for new fans to learn about where phrases come from, why the TARIDS looks like a 1960s police box and why the Sonic Screwdriver doesnt work on wood. Jump in feet first and youll be part of one of the most welcoming communities in the world.
