4. The Shenanigans
I guess this technically should go along with the writing but the situations that Miranda and company get in are brilliant all on their own. They're generally simple, but they always end up being much more complicated and rewarding than they were at the beginning of the episode. And if your story lines are funny, your show probably is too. When it comes to Miranda, the situations that characters get themselves into are genuinely genius. Whether Miranda is trying to prove that she's adventurous by taking a vacation to the hotel down the street or just trying to cancel her gym membership, the setups, consequences, and punchlines are spectacular. She's been arrested, caught in the park with her pants down, and mistaken for a drag queen. None of which feel forced! The happenings and mishaps on the show are clever and best of all, they aren't contrived. They are pretty believable when you think about it, which makes them that much more hilarious. This situations along with Miranda's impressive ability to lie on the spot make the story lines original and quite entertaining.
