8. The "Zombies"
Though in this case, they'd likely be considered "infected", and the show itself are simply called "monsters", for the purpose of the genre and the films it pays homage to, the creatures in the show Kingdom are the kind of zombies that can run, jump, and bite, adding to the heart-stopping and heart-wrenching elements of the show, and the people's race to survival.
Fortunately, these zombies, despite being nearly unstoppable apart from the traditional decapitation or burning, don't swarm and chase at all hours of the day. Adding to the suspense and thrill of a large-scale survivor story is a time of day in which the zombies must escape the heat of the sun and crawl under shadowed, dark places to hide, including under the raised floorboards of traditional homes of that time, or under enormous boulders flanking the roads and pathways taken by fleeing citizens.
More interesting is how the infection spread, not by a first bite that immediately took effect, but by... more conceptually disgusting, and endlessly more intriguing means, as a direct result of bad leadership.
