10 Revived TV Shows That Should Have Stayed Dead

Kojak Ving Rhames

Ving Rhames is one of those reliable character actors who always manages to shine, no matter how crappy the movie. There have been few attempts to turn him into a leading man in his own right though, with the biggest effort being the reboot of Telly Savalas show Kojak. Rhames fit the bill for Kojak by being bald and a fan of lollipops, so it€™'s a shame about the lukewarm procedural around him.

Rhames had the necessary charisma to carry it, but everything else about the new Kojak was stock: the storylines had been done to death, and nobody outside of Ving made an impression. It€™'s a pity because there were occasional sparks of greatness, but viewers grew bored quickly and the show ended after a measly nine episodes.

So let's wish Vin Diesel good luck with his planned movie reboot of Kojak (because he really needs another franchise).

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
