10 Revived TV Shows That Should Have Stayed Dead

9. Scrubs: Med School

Scrubs Season 9
ABC

In later seasons Scrubs always looked on the verge of cancellation, only for the network to agree to another season in the end. When season eight was wrapping up and there was no word of a renewal, creator Bill Lawrence decided to give the show a proper ending. He had J.D. finally leaving Sacred Heart, and in the final scene saying an imaginary goodbye to all the people he met there.

It was a great finale, and the cast and fans were ready to move on. The network later decided to order a bunch of new episodes after all, and it was decided it would follow a new group of med students. Some of the old cast €“ including Zach Braff - returned to ease the transition and the show was subtitled Med School, but like a brain-dead patient kept on life support, it was only prolonging the inevitable.

The new characters -€“ especially the little weasel played by Dave Franco €“- were hugely annoying, and the original cast had the appearance of people passing the time until the cheque cleared. Fans were turned off by the new format, and the network finally pulled the plug.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
