10 Sci-Fi TV Shows In DESPERATE Need Of A Revival

8. Firefly

Arrow John Constantine
FOX

You had to know Firefly was going to make its presence felt on this list at some point, right? The show is at the top of just about everyone's 'cancelled too soon' lists - and for damn good reason.

Joss Whedon's sci-fi space western boasted an incredible cast - led by the one and only Nathan Fillion - while the adventures of Mal Reynolds' crew offered up an intriguing premise for the show that was set in the year 2517.

Nobody really knows why Fox didn't invest in it all that much, but its cancellation has gone down in history as one of the infamous of all time. You could say the show developed a cult-following soon afterwards, but its devoted fandom was always there, campaigning for it to be renewed.

Though the campaigns paid off as the story was furthered in the 2005 film Serenity, there was still so much unexplored territory in this immersive world that Whedon had created. With that in mind, a revival today would allow us to venture back into that world and see how it has evolved in the near-two decades we've been away from it.
