10 Scrapped Ideas For Star Trek: Enterprise Season 5

4. Continuing The Temporal Cold War

The Temporal Cold War took up much of the first and second seasons of Enterprise, but the audience never truly warmed to it. With falling ratings, the Xindi Arc was introduced as a way of both spicing the show up, and washing away this plotline. When the show was renewed for a fourth season, Storm Front was created to wrap the storyline up once and for all.

Except, it didn't. There were still dangling plotlines that had gone unresolved. One such issue was - who exactly was the 'Future Guy' that had been speaking to Silik the whole time? Well, there were a couple of different directions that this could have gone in.

First, was that the shadow would turn out to be a Romulan agent, attempting to influence events of the past to protect the Empire in the future. This would tie into another entry on this list. Another idea was that the shadow would be revealed as Captain Archer himself. How exactly this would have come about still remains a mystery, but it would certainly have been a bit of a twist in Star Trek's history.
