The Death: Believing that they were meant to be turned into zombies, Lizzie killed her little sister, terrifying Carol and Tyreese that she would do the same to Judith. Seeing no other option, Carol took her out into the grove and told her to look at the flowers and shot her in the back of the head. How It Changed Things: While plenty of deaths have individually impacted characters on the series, Carol keeps getting highlighted because of her massive change as a result. The loss of loved ones like Noah, Hershel, and Andrea hurt Glenn, Maggie, and Michonne respectively, but none of them drastically altered who they were as a result. But with Lizzies death, Carol did. Building off of the darker side to her character we saw with Karen, if there was any bit of the old Carol left, it died when she tearfully executed Lizzie. No one has even come close to the 180 that Carol has done and Lzzies death marks the apex of her characters fascinating journey.
