10 Star Trek Characters Who MUST Return

5. Q (Live Action)

Star Trekk Q Picard
Paramount Home Entertainment

John de Lancie may seem like a bit of a cheat on this list, as Q has already returned in Star Trek: Lower Decks. However, we Trekkies are a ravenous bunch who won't be satisfied until we get more, more dammit! There are also two shows which would suit a Q-shaped return.

Picard of course is the first and most obvious example. Alex Kurtzman has suggested that this series is the one with the shortest shelf-life, with Patrick Stewart previously stating that they had the stories for three seasons plotted out. While Picard has already *spoiler* died at the end of the first season, only to bounce back like the boss he is in the body of a Golem, the eventual, final death of Picard would be the most fitting moment for Q to return. Tapestry had teased the idea that Q may play with Picard at the moment of death and there is no better way to end the show than to have the two men walking off into the light.

If Q doesn't join Picard in the afterlife, there is also the possibility that he could visit his old friend Kathryn Janeway in Star Trek: Prodigy. De Lancie and Mulgrew have been friends behind the scenes for many years, so it would also serve as a lovely, fan-friendly return.
