10 Television Shows That Overstayed Their Welcome

10. Two and a Half Men

All the scandal that has surrounded this show in recent years just goes to show how big of a hit it really is, it does not matter if it is Charlie Sheen or Ashton Kutcher millions of people tune in each week. I do not believe that any other show would have survived the controversy of Sheen's very public and extremely bitter fallout with creator Chuck Lorre, as well as his sacking and subsequent breakdown, but it did: Kutcher came in as a replacement and the show went on. Then after the behind the scenes storm looked like it had died down the formerly half man Angus T Jones attacks his own series, in an interview on a religious based radio show Jones apparently stated that he thinks the show is filth and urged people not to watch it. Again the series was picked up and carried on because it is popular, but that statement leads to the real question that I and many other people would ask, why the hell do so many people still watch this crap? I have tried many times to understand the appeal but I just don't see it. I have never found it funny not when it first started and certainly not now that we are ten years in, yep that€™s ten years! Two and a Half Men has been on air as long as Friends and is just one season short of Cheers and Frasier, that is unbelievable. Clearly I have a negative opinion of Men but I am not a television Nazi; I get that a lot of people are fans of the series and I say good for them and to each their own, but seriously a decade? Of the original three characters that made up the show€™s title one has been shipped off to the army because the actor is a grown up now and doesn€™t want to be in it anymore, one has been killed off because he seemingly lost his mind and then there is Alan. What is left for him to do? His brother is dead and his son has moved away, does anybody really care if Alan gets married again? Without the character of Charlie in the show and what would of been the inevitable conclusion of him finally settling down, there is nowhere left for the show to go. It is time to put it out of its misery.
