10 Things About Doctor Who That Need To Change

5. Bring In Literature

One thing that fans know about the show is that it's a work of fiction with the possibilities of it becoming a work of actual fact. But what about other fictional stories, like The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes? Literature has been a part of a writer's knowledge and arsenal from the get-go, but including it in a show like Doctor Who would make it more interesting for its audience. Despite the fact that the show is fictional, it is portrayed as if everything within the show is possible, yet the works of fictional media is still fictional (until proven otherwise). Exploring - and merging - other fictional worlds into the universe of Doctor Who doesn't necessarily mean taking Sherlock Holmes or even Cinderella and dropping them into the TARDIS (however magical it may appear). It can go deeper, in a psychological manner. Having an episode exploring the writer of that novel would intrigue the viewers, as writers of famous novels are not acknowledged as much as other writers, and that should change.
