8. Thank The Americans Not Liking Thunderbirds For Captain Scarlet

Fans have the Americans to thank for Captain Scarlet. Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons was only created because a US buyer couldn't be found for Thunderbirds, prompting ITC's Lew Grade (part owner of AP Films) to cancel Thunderbirds and ask Gerry Anderson to come up with a more American-friendly show. The result was Captain Scarlet. It seems only fair that in the 2005 CGI reboot, the good Captain's nationality changes from English to American.
