That is to say, the programme Captain Scarlet is from Slough. Specifically, scenes were filmed on the Slough Trading Estate, which is a salubrious location to be sure. Slough was voted by Hotels.com in 2014 as the least romantic location in the UK. Also, Sir John Betjeman said in his 1937 poem, Slough: ''Come friendly bombs and fall on Slough; It isn't fit for humans now.'' All said, Captain Scarlet may be one of the best things to come from Slough.
