10 Things That Would Kill The Walking Dead

9. Totally Diverting From The Source Material

Great books tend to make great series'. It's not always the case, but fantasy epics such as Game of Thrones and Lord of the Rings have been perfectly crafted from written material. The Walking Dead also descends from ink on a page, with Robert Kirkman's comic book series still going strong after Issue 1 launched in 2003. AMC invested in the visualisation of the show, meaning the writers already had an idea of what the show would look like before they even sat down to pull it all together. This has to have played a part in the show's success, and while some diversions have been great (Daryl's entire character, for example) they must stick closely to the overarching storyline if The Walking Dead is going to remain popular for years to come.
