2. Inconsistency
The Walking Dead's most pressing problem is the inconsistency. It's pacing is all over the place, and as a result, we're left with incredible episodes being diluted down by mediocrity around them. Season 6 started superbly, but after 3 or 4 episodes, the sizzle simmered down and we were left with pointless filler. Even the mid-season finale was fairly underwhelming. It's becoming predictably inconsistent now. You just know that the first episode after this break will be incredible, and the one after that will be excellent too, the show will hook you back in, lay down a gripping plot, and then BAM we'll be hit with an episode dedicated to Eugene, Rosita and Tara or other characters on an equally insignificant level. It's inevitable and before long people will start switching off if the pattern continues.
