10 Things We All Do On Netflix

4. The Aimless Scrolling

Are You Still Watching Netflix

Much like a kid hyperventilating and collapsing into the fetal position in front of the Pick and Mix at the supermarket, there's an overwhelming amount of choice on Netflix.

Here's the thing with Netflix, there is one rule you must remember in order to avoid entering a scrolling wormhole which leaves you and your loved ones frustrated that you eventually give up and stick How I Met Your Mother on as you all ignore each other (and the TV) and stare at your phones, which in turn, inevitably leads to more scrolling.

The rule is simple, if you are looking for something new to watch, you have to find it and click it within two minutes before the doubt trickles in. Anything past the two minute mark and it leaves you in a vicious cycle of looking at a film or tv series, overthinking, clicking away and moving on before the cycle begins again.

Much like a bomb disposal expert you've got to be quick, decisive and hope the choice you make doesn't blow up in your face.

I see my role at WhatCulture the same way my wife sees my role as a lover: I contribute in a very small way, my presence is barely noticeable and I’m not entirely sure if the laughter is at me or with me.
