The first season of House of the Dragon was relatively contained, considering the expansive bounds of the universe in which it is set. Proceedings were essentially limited to the confines of King's Landing, Dragonstone and Driftmark, interspersed with a few brief forays into the more far-flung regions of Pentos and the Stepstones.

As such, fans are champing at the bit to see new locations that bear vital significance in the conflict make their onscreen bow next season. Names like Duskendale, Tumbleton and Rook's Rest may not ring a bell for those getting their first taste of Fire and Blood through HBO's adaptation but hopes are high that said locations will be synonymous with the epic sequences slated to take place there by the time House of the Dragon concludes.

There is also a palpable air of anticipation surrounding the upcoming return to some of the more beloved locations featured in Game of Thrones, with Jacaerys' mission to Winterfell as Rhaenyra's envoy garnering particular buzz amongst the fanbase. The rumors are already swirling around many other storied locations potentially featuring next season, with the instantly recognizable names of Casterly Rock and the Eyrie amongst the frontrunners.

Westeros at the time of the Dance of the Dragons is an endlessly rich and far reaching world, ripe for in-depth exploration. The show runners would be fools to not take advantage of this enviable characteristic when House of the Dragon makes its eagerly anticipated return.
