10 Things You Didn't Know About Only Fools & Horses
3. Del Capone
Like
many television shows and films, Only Fools & Horses was not filmed in the
location that the sitcom is set. Although the Trotters are known for being from
Peckham, South London, a large portion of the filming took place in Bristol.
Many shots took place near Bristol City’s football ground, Ashton Gate, with some scenes being shot in the stadium’s car park.
Likewise, the series two episode, ‘It Never Rains’, was set in Spain but was actually shot in Dorset.
However, the cast and crew did actually get to shoot on location in Florida for the memorable two-part Christmas specials ‘Miami Twice’, which aired in 1991.
Not only that, but they actually filmed in a real-life Mafia mansion and used the supposed favoured suite of the infamous Al Capone in the Biltmore Hotel in Miami.
