That said, lip syncing is a drag queen's bread and butter. Queens lip sync every night at drag shows around the country, and the best part is, no singing ability is required - only a lot of passion and what RuPaul likes to call charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent (think about it). Every episode of RuPaul's Drag Race involves a lip syncing duel. After the weekly competition and runway walk, RuPaul picks out the two queens whom she thinks performed the weakest and has them square off in a theatrical battle to a pre-chosen song. This "Lip Sync For Your Life" segment has seen flying wigs, stripped dressed, shed tears, and even - in one season three episode - an ill-advised bodyslam. Needless to say, it's important to have your lip syncing down before heading on stage.
