From what information is known on Bruce Wayne, writer Tim McCanlies had envisioned the series as lasting for six seasons.
The script was put together for the show's pilot episode, but McCanlies had constructed an all-encompassing bible of sorts that mapped out the entire first season and had a natural end point after six years. That end point? Why, that would be the moment that Bruce Wayne embraced the mantle of Batman.
After six seasons of learning new skills and abilities, the final episodes of the show would see Bruce contemplating just how best to tackle the growing criminal element of Gotham City. Whether audiences would have gotten a carbon copy of Batman: Year One's iconic shot of a bat smashing through a Wayne Manor window is unknown - but the endgame of the show was to be Bruce Wayne finally embracing his destiny, much like what we'd see years later in FOX's Gotham.
This plan sounds extremely similar to what would eventually be seen in Smallville, where Tom Welling's Clark Kent only became Superman during the closing moments of the series' final episode. Which ties in nicely with the #1 entry on this list...
