3. The Rumoured Cast

The cast for Bruce Wayne was never formalised or even close to being officially announced, yet that doesn't mean that there isn't information out in the online ether about which names were being considered for the show.

As the titular Bruce, the X-Men franchise's Shawn Ashmore and Clerks II's Trevor Fehrman were the two frontrunners to play the lead of the series. Elsewhere, Numb3rs' David Krumholtz was being lined up to play Jim Gordon, and Michael Rosenbaum was reportedly eyed for Harvey Dent.

At that point in time, Rosenbaum was best known for a memorable turn in 1998's Urban Legend, and he'd go on to achieve further fame as Lex Luthor for the first seven seasons of Smallville. To think, how things could've been so different should Bruce Wayne have moved forward, with Rosenbaum playing a friendly, charming Dent before ultimately making the inevitable transition to becoming Two-Face.

Interestingly, speculation suggests that other Smallville names - notably John Glover, Kristin Kreuk, Sam Jones III, and Allison Mack - may have been under consideration for a role in Bruce Wayne, before they ended up becoming a part of the adventures of Tom Welling's young Clark Kent.
