4. 2009 - Personal Conflict
The conflict with LOAN had come to a head and everyone was aware of Gemma's ordeal. Clay was chasing down Zobelle and was out for blood. While fighting off LOAN, the Sons also had the ATF building a RICO case against them and because of this, Cameron Hayes' son had been shot and killed by an ATF agent June Stahl. Hayes was a member of the Real IRA and SAMCRO's main link to their guns. Hayes was very much of an eye-for-an-eye mentality and thought the loss of his son could only be dealt with by taking someone else's son back to Ireland with him. The child he decided to take? Jax's son Abel. After incapacitating Jax's girlfriend Tara, Cameron flees with Abel to the docks so he can get out the of the country. In what is possibly Clay's only demonstration of fatherly love for Jax, he stops pursuing Zobelle and goes, with the rest of the club, to stop Cameron from taking Abel out of the country. In what can only be described as one of the most heartbreaking scenes in history, Cameron escapes with Abel on a boat just as the Sons arrive at the dock.
