10 Things You Never Knew About Karen Gillan

From time traveller to Marvel mercenary.

Karen Gillan became a household name when she was introduced into the Doctor Who hall of fame as Amy Pond back in 2010. She joined the series at the right time, too, as its ever growing success around the globe - most notably in America - meant that her portrayal of the Time Lord's coveted companion gained her recognition across the pond (no pun intended), too, which has certainly worked in her favour since she left the reputable realms of the Whoniverse behind. In fact, she's established herself as an almighty on screen force to be reckoned with since she got zapped back in time by the Weeping Angels in the mid-Series 7 finale (nope, still not over it!) and her career has subsequently been going from strength to strength with no signs of slowing down any time soon. She's starred in her first feature film (and then in a couple more after that), made her directorial debut, joined the Marvel universe, landed her own US sitcom (OK, it got axed shortly afterwards, but it's still something to proud of!) and she's just finished filming a Western with John Travolta and Ethan Hawke which sounds... erm... interesting to say the very least. Yep, the only way is up for everybody's favourite Scottish star but how much do you really know about the girl who waited? Here are 10 mind-blowing facts about Karen Gillan. You learn something new every day. Giphy4 Gif
