Karen's been establishing a name for herself across the pond (again, no pun intended!) since leaving the confines of a certain Saturday night teatime drama and last year she landed her biggest post-Who role to date when she was cast as the lead in her very own US sitcom. Aptly titled Selfie, it was basically My Fair Lady meets the 21st century as Karen's character, the social media fiend Eliza Dooley, attempted to overhaul her tarnished image after a video of her public and humiliating break up went viral. We've all been there, right? There was (probably) an underlying moral in there somewhere but it was basically just Eliza getting up to all kinds of promiscuous shenanigans as she repeatedly chose likes, friends and followers over... you know, real life. The consequences were hilarious for all concerned - *ahem* - but the sight of Karen prancing around in stockings just wasn't enough in the end because it was ultimately axed halfway through its first season. It gave her even more exposure in the US which is certainly never a bad thing and her next film will be the aforementioned In a Valley of Violence which co-stars Torchwood's Burn Gorman.
