10 Times Doctor Who Appeared Where You'd Least Expect

3. On Its Own Island In Fortnite

With every entertainment franchise under the sun making its way to Fortnite over the last few years, you could say it was only a matter of time before Doctor Who made the leap as well.

But then again, the show isn't anywhere near as popular as other Fortnite crossover IP like Star Wars, Marvel, and DC, and because it exudes such low-budget, underdog energy, there's just something odd about seeing Doctor Who standing shoulder-to-shoulder with an unparalleled global force like Fortnite.

And yet, if you download the game on your platform of choice and enter a specific island code, you'll soon be interacting with the TARDIS, the Weeping Angels, and the Kerblam Man, along with everyone's favourite villain... the Pting?

While it's not as meaty as some of Fortnite's other crossovers, it's a fun time nonetheless, and because the game is free of charge, there's no reason to not give it a go if you have a console or PC to access it on. Just watch out for any ten-year-olds screaming at you down the mic.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
