10 Times Doctor Who Was Accused Of Having A Hidden Agenda

2. The Anti-Abortion Agenda

Tumblr Ncxuu5knfu1qdzgy2o1 5001 Gif So that's what Kill the Moon was all about... apparently. Needless to say, viewers were left to scratch their heads in sheer bemusement when the Twelfth Doctor and Clara Oswald journeyed to the lunar surface last year and 99.5% of the audience were annoyed because the episode had just casually revealed that the Moon was actually the embryonic form of a gigantic, draconian creature. The other 0.5%, meanwhile, thought that the whole thing was harbouring a metaphorical message about anti-abortion. Clara was certainly faced with an impossible ultimatum when she had to choose between the human race and the life of what was essentially a baby (as the Doctor himself pointed out, "You can€™t blame a baby for kicking"), but let's pretend that Doctor Who is a piece of fantasy fiction for a minute wherein this is the sort of outlandish situation that our characters actually have to face. And as for the Doctor leaving Clara to carry out the "abortion" alone, thus taking all of the responsibility and blame off himself... He's an alien. His morals are different to ours and he even explained that he thought he was respecting Clara by allowing her to make such an important decision on her own. She rebuked that by reminding him that it was never his decision to make, which is something he continues to have trouble deciphering. It's not easy being the last of the Time Lords, you know.
