10 Times Larry David Went Too Far On Curb Your Enthusiasm

Curb Your Enthusiasm Incest
HBO

In textbook Curb fashion, Larry tells one little lie, and it quickly balloons into something way out of control. Well, OK, it’s not so little a lie in this instance - he makes up a sexually abusive history between himself and his friendly uncle - but he does so for the right reasons, to the extent that this can be said.

When Larry bumps into an old flame, she reminds him of her terrible history with her stepfather, and asks him to join her at an incest survivor’s meeting. Once there, Larry listens to the harrowing tales of the other attendees - and is then asked to share his story.

Rather than face up to the awkwardness and possible grief of admitting that he’s just there with a pal, he launches worryingly quickly into a fictional dark past, involving an uncle who happens to be visiting that week (you can see where this one is going).

In defence of Larry, his ex had no business inviting him to this anonymous group meeting - but it’s safe to say there were a few ways Larry could have handled this situation, most of which didn’t involve false accusations of sex crimes.
