10 Times Scotty Saved The Day In Star Trek

2. Saving The Day By Drinking

Star Trek Scotty By Any Other Name
CBS Media Ventures

The title really says it all, doesn't it?

The Kelvans, an ancient race of immensely powerful aliens, encounter the crew of the Enterprise. They quickly take control of the ship, reducing the majority of the crew to desiccated cubes. Scotty is one of the few left intact as he is essential to work the ship.

The Kelvans are advanced, but their race knows nothing of emotion. To break them apart, the crew that are left separate them and attempt to get a response out of them. Scotty plays his part with alcohol - lots and lot of alcohol.

He begins by introducing the Kelvan Tomar to Saurian brandy and then to a second bottle. Both men are exceedingly drunk at this stage, yet Scott proves to be the master of yet another field. He opens a bottle of...something green, and give it to Tomar - eventually drinking the man under the table.

Satisfied that his role has been successful, Scotty goes to inform the captain. And passes out in his own doorway.

Still, a win is a win!
