10 Times The Simpsons Really Did It

10. Having Adam West Play A Pompous Version Of Himself

Adam West is best known to older generations as Batman, from the 1960s TV show, but there are younger kids out there who have had their first exposure to him as the mayor of Quahog, Adam West. That's right - as most of you will likely know, Adam West plays "himself" on Family Guy, where he's the mayor - and a complete nutball. And for many, that's basically what he's known for. Adam West is fantastic on Family Guy, without question. Though he's been on the show less and less in recent years (he is eighty-six after all), he still steals most of the scenes he's in. What many people forget, however, is that The Simpsons had West on their show first. Back in 1992, West turned up in the classic "Mr. Plow." The main difference between his Simpsons cameo and his later Family Guy character? Family Guy doesn't really bother mentioning his time as Batman, where as The Simpsons had West signing the praises - in a very over-the-top way - of the series.
West would return to the Simpsons ten years later in "Large Marge" (the episode where Marge gets breast implants).
