10 Treehouse Of Horror Segments The Simpsons Should Produce
10. Godzilla
The Simpsons have already parodied King Kong with "King Homer" back in Treehouse of Horror III. Why not Godzilla next when it comes to giant monsters (not counting those talking Billboards, which did have a Godzilla flair to them)? First, the Simpsons do have a history with Japan, and Godzilla did make a brief appearance in the episode in which the family heads over to the land of the rising sun. Second, with the success of Gareth Edwards Godzilla movie recently, the franchise is back in high demand with western audiences. A sequel is being worked on, the old Toho movies have been re-released on dvd/blu-ray, and the time is ripe for a Treehouse of Horror take on the franchise. Just picture the big monster rampaging through Springfield. And if you really want to poke fun at the 1998 Roland Emmerich flop, you could have Patty and Selma's pet lizard Jub Jub (is he still alive?) mutate into the beast. Or not, because Godzilla 1998 still remains one of the biggest cinematic let-downs around to his day.
