10 TV Characters Viewers Completely Changed Their Mind About
5. Andy Dwyer - Parks and Recreation
The cast of Parks and Recreation could rightfully comprise this entire list. The characters viewers have grown to love for their warmth and positivity bare little resemblance to their Season 1 counterparts, whose introduction to audiences is little more than a screechy, unfunny Office knockoff. The most egregious offender, though, is Andy Dwyer. A poor man's Jack Black, Dwyer spends much of Season One as a buffoonish, boorish jerk. Insensitive to his girlfriend's wants or needs, he's pretty much a hollow caricature of a character. His breakup with Ann was a catalyst for change, and the character developed a vulnerability and softness that viewers began to respond to. However, following this plotline the show struggled to find ways to incorporate the talented Chris Pratt into the world of small government. It wasn't until the show paired him off with April that the Andy Dwyer audiences love took form. The show found a way to utilise Pratt's natural charisma, and the hilarious, big-hearted Dwyer viewers fell in love with arrived.
He writes half-baked novels and twitter fiction. He makes short films for contests. He plays mostly unheard music. He painted something once, and it was... okay.
